We have a curiosity and a desire to spread ideas. TED, Wikipedia, Threadless, are testaments to our need to express, share, debate, and confirm our ideas. More now than ever, we have the tools freely available to get involved — to spread our ideas.
Finding the spark for your ideas to travel, however, requires a lot of trial and error. Seth Godin’s new publishing foray, the Domino Project, is experimenting in a big way to find those sparks to make their ideas (books) get out there. Here is how the first two books have been released:Give it away in the form of a free, time-limited E-book. Sell the digital copy for under $10. Offer the printed copy for under $10. (not everyone has or wants a Kindle or the like) Make up the revenue with “limited edition” versions for ~$75.
