I don't know who first used this phrase, but it sure makes sense when printers try to judge papers for their customers. If paper were really a commodity product, it could be substituted by any manufacturer's product without a difference being noticed in the final print. For printers we know this is not true, but how often do we think of paper as a commodity and buy only on price?
